At last, Mandela takes a break

South African former president Nelson Mandela left South Africa on Monday to take a well-deserved two-week holiday at a secret location with his wife Graca, his representative said on Tuesday. Zelda la Grange confirmed local press reports that Mandela had left, but said she could not give his holiday destination due to tight security around the 83-year-old statesman. "He has gone on holiday and he's doing very well. For security reasons we can obviously not disclose where," she said. Mandela, who was earlier this year diagnosed with microscopic prostate cancer and subsequently received six weeks of radiation treatment, would continue tests for the disease upon his return. - AFP
